MINIBIKE
HOW TO SECTION -BACKING PLATE
Typical install on a minibike
Notice how the fingers are bent so to rest on
stop bolt or plate
Pre-bend the support fingers before you install
Before you install this part on your minibike take few minutes to do a couple of quick
modifications to help make brake work better.

1:  Clean out center hole with a round file to give a little more clearance so not to
bind on the axle

2:  With a flat file or course sand paper clean each end ( edge )of the brake shoes to
remove a small lip that may keep linings from making contact with drum .

3:  The nut that secures the brake arm to the housing is sometimes over tightened
and may need to be loosened a little , do not over loosen

4: 1-3/8" spacer must be used to insure proper spacing for backing plate to drum
insertion.

DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN AXLE NUTS that will bind the brake assembly and it may
not function properly

RETURN TO ASSEMBLY
